The Parish Finance Council assists the Pastor by providing recommendations and expertise on a variety of issues relating to decisions affecting the financial stability of St. Peter’s Church. The Council also prepares a yearly parish budget and monitors expenditures at its monthly meetings.
Composed of eight registered parishioners appointed by the Pastor, Fran O’Neill is ex officio as the Parish Accountant and Beth Watson, eighth-grade teacher at St. Peter’s School, represents the school in deliberations. Other members have finance and business experience.
The Parish Pastoral Council is a representative body of the parish faithful whose focus is on the whole community (within and outside the parish), and has a consultative responsibility to the Pastor and parish pastoral staff. St Peter’s Parish Pastoral Council
The purpose of the Parish Pastoral Council is to bring together members of the parish (lay people, religious, ordained) who, together with the pastor, build the parish as a living Christian community. Through reflection, prayer, planning, motivation and support, the Council is called to advise the Pastor and parish pastoral staff regarding the general policies that guide the programs and services of the parish. The Council is committed to the spiritual growth of the entire Council, its individual members, and the wider parish community.
The Council is made up of (12) members from the parish who reflect the entire parish community, mindful of the diversity of the parish. Registered member of St. Peter’s are eligible to be on the council if they are baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, regularly attend Mass, have demonstrated commitment to parish community through parish commissions and ministries, and maintain a willingness to commit their time and talent to the ministry of the council and to their own spiritual growth and formation. In an effort to ensure a greater representation across all ministries the council is made up of delegates nominated from one of the three Parish Commissions (Worship, Parish Life & Service and Christian Formation).
At Mass or at any church function, you can recognize your council representatives by looking for their familiar blue badges that say, “Pastoral Council Representative”. These badges are an open invitation to say hello, ask a question about parish happenings, or to cordially voice your opinion. Feel free to talk with us and bring to our attention a concern you or someone you know may have so that we may address them appropriately. This is how we, as your representatives, gain insight into how you feel about many good things you see happening within the parish.
Thank you and God Bless St. Peter’s Parish.
